Summary And Reflection On Divergent By Veronica Roth

Divergent, a book, is about how people are divided in spaces according to the virtues they possess. This is not the only topic. However, there are other characteristics that can explain the book’s main topic. One example of this is the envy. It could also explain the sub-category. This story is about a futuristic society divided into five factions each with a particular virtue or value. These factions are Abnegation which is recognized as selflessness, Amity where it is recognized with the value of peace and Erudite who is knowledgeable, Candor, Honesty, and dartless bravery. If you don’t fit in one faction, you can be killed. They are raised by their parents until the age of sixteen. The aptitude test will determine which faction is appropriated. However, they can also choose to stay with the family faction they grew into. This is the normal world. Each faction is fine. But, when one group of factions took an aptitude test, the story changed. Beatrice, a sixteen year-old girl, lived in abnegation until she met her parents Andrew Prior and Natalie Prior. Both girls took an aptitude test to determine which faction they were more suited for. They must face simulated situations and attempt to save their lives. Beatrice’s test results revealed something unusual. Beatrice was able to demonstrate aptitude in Abnegation Erudite, Dauntless and Dauntless. She is also known as Divergent. Her society considers her dangerous because it is not allowed for her to disclose her test results. After much frustration, Beatrice made the decision to switch to Dauntless after thinking of staying or changing abnegation. Beatrice and Caleb spoke briefly with Jeanine Matthews who was the principal Antagonist. She had plans to make the abnegation faction disappear and control the dauntless group with the serum. Beatrice changed the name of her character to Tris in dauntless. She felt that she was at the bottom of the hierarchy and wanted to change it. Tris encountered many people during her time in dauntless faction. It was amazing because she had started at the last place on the rank tables. Christina and Will were among them. Christina is from Candor. Will, one among the newborn-initiate participant, was another person that was closely observed. At least there were some new characters in the compound. Eric was one such leader. Jeanine was his assistant and he was responsible to inject the serum. Four was his first rival. Tris is his girlfriend, and he strongly believed in her. Tobias was raised in abnegation. Each faction symbol has been tattooed on his body. Dauntless requires everyone to pass three levels of testing to ensure they are evaluated. Only ten people will be made dauntless members. The rest will become factionless. Tris and Four formed a secret love relationship. Four will reveal his true identity. Tris made the decision to visit Caleb that day, but she didn’t tell anyone. Jeanine Matthews was Erudite’s leader, and she confronted her when she arrived. Tris suspects the woman was planning to kill all Divergent. Tris discovered later that Erudite was using Dauntless’s plan to defeat Abnegation.

Tris passed her final simulation. In it, she had the task of conquering all her fears. She again ranked first and was officially made a member of the Dauntless fraction. She discovered later that the leaders were injecting everyone using a track device. Tris however knew they were lying. They were injecting a simulation of the serum Janine Erudite gave to Eric, Dauntless leader fighting to Abnegation. Tobiass and Tris were both asleep when they woke up. Divergent can’t resist the serum. While pretending to be sleeping, they founded themselves. Tobias and Eric attempted to kill Tobias at the same time. The two of them fought back and were eventually taken to Erudite. Jeanine was the antagonist and took Tobias to Jeanine for a simulation. Jeanine then sent Tris out to a tank that looked like the ones she had used in the simulation tests. Tris drowned, as Jeanine shot her in her shoulder the day before. Tris’s father was killed in the accident. Tris was to be taken to safety by Jeanine, her principal antagonist. Tris died while on her way to escape her mother. The novel continued from this point. There were many events, including the need for Tris to stop the seperation simulation. Because it would kill over half of the Dauntless participants. Caleb was able to trust Tris. Tris also knew that Tris’s treasure Tobias was looking at Tris with hatred due to the serum. But Tris was brave and helped Tobias out of the simulation. They stopped Jeanine’s disaster. All of the lies were exposed by everyone on Erudite. Tobias as well as Tris went further away to be better prepared for whatever came next. Divergent is a fascinating book. I believe it is.
