Review Of “The Rivalry Mystery At The Army – Navy Game” By John Feinstein

The book that I just finished is “The Rivalry Mysteries At The Army-Navy Game” by John Feinstein. This book came out on September 28, 2010 The book mentions that the army-navy game took place the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The book has 268 pages. The book is fictional, but the Army-Navy games were very real. I believe this is an amazing book for any sports fan.

The book tells the story of two teenagers, John Feinstein and Susan Carol. They are both sports reporters for a national newspaper and cover the Army-Navy game. They soon learn that the Army-Navy football rivalry dates back 110 year. They have to contend with things like secret service and unfair officials. They have many things going on, including sports writing, their first year at school, and the feelings they feel for each other. This book may be a great read for some.

The book was not for me, but I did find some parts interesting, such as the factoids at the end, which tell you about the actual Army-Navy game. The book ended with information such as the number of points that someone had earned, or George W. Bush attending the Army-Navy game three times. Some parts of the novel I didn’t enjoy. For example, at the end the final score for the game was 25-25. The reader would be more satisfied if the final result had been different. I didn’t like when Stevie and Susan Carol were separated. She was sent to travel with the Navy Team. This is not a reason I can give, but I think they should’ve stayed together.

This book has a lot of football, with a little bit of mystery. Due to this, I found the book a bit boring. This is my own opinion. This book is available in all Fulton County libraries or online. It was not an enjoyable book to read. If you do want to read the book, the beginning is slow. However, it becomes more interesting at the end.
