The Difference Between Canada And India Culture

The most exciting learning experience of your life is traveling abroad. Culture is the root of many emotions you experience abroad, no matter how frustrating or exciting. Cross-cultural difference refers to the exchange of ideas from different cultures between people. Cross-cultural variation refers to the interaction between people from different races. People from different backgrounds must interact in their own languages. Different words may mean different meanings. As cultural differences remain, confusion can occur.

Yes, my first time visiting Canada to study is marked by cultural differences. Since I am a pure vegetarian, I noticed that the prices of vegetarian food in restaurants and food courts are higher than those for non-vegetarians. This is because Canadians love beef, which was the biggest shock to me when I arrived in Canada. What I have noticed is that the information and facilities are much more readily available in Canada than they are in India. However, in Canada there are many topics that can be debated openly here but not in India. Our community is not open-minded. Inequality exists between the male and female genders. Men are not viewed as equal by women. Culture shock is not something that can be easily dealt with. They wouldn’t let women work outside. This thinking still exists today, but it is a far cry from the past. There are no borders. Canada is free of discrimination. My culture, known as Punjabi culture, has been around for over a thousand years. My childhood was filled with people from different cultures. Different phases of life are different. They had to work weekends sometimes. Canada is a busy country. Parents are often unable to make time for their children. It is very different how they study. India’s students are required to greet the teacher at the entrance of class. Here, they can do so while sitting at their desks. They don’t place any burden on students in Canada because the Canadian government believes more on practical theory than theoretical theory. Canada uses shaking hands as a greeting. In India, ladies must cover their faces with dupattas when meeting someone else. Canada has many restrictions that India does not have. There is also discrimination in education. Backward and scheduled cast classes have seats at 45%, while general category or Sikhs students must achieve a 75% overall percentage to be eligible for the same course. This discourages others from achieving their best in exams.

India is also a more masculine country. Indian society tends to be focused on the competitions, while Canadian society focuses more on quality and care. This is a place where people can enjoy their lives and avoid stress. Canadians don’t speak English. They speak their own languages. There are many differences in the outfits. Canadians tend to wear western clothes, while Indians prefer traditional attire. India and Canada have different religious beliefs. India is a religious nation. There are many festivals celebrated in India. They instill moral values in their children. It is important for grandparent to teach religious values. Canada is an open society. However, Canada does not have a shared space. India has a culture where people enjoy sharing their space with others. They enjoy meeting new people.

Canada is a country where people are allowed to do all kinds of work. The supervisor might even join you, if necessary, in helping with the lower-level tasks like moving materials or cleaning up the desks. The joy of all work is enjoyed here. In Indian companies, people might choose to hire cleaners to perform the most difficult and disrespectful work. Canadians value their time. It is essential that you show up on time for meetings and are there in time to paint. They are a bit sloppy and enjoy small talk and good food while trying to save time. Indians don’t get much respect for punctuality. Many Indians make excuses for not arriving on time.

Cultural change can have a profound effect on the psychology and behavior of people. These changes can completely change the way people live and think. In every aspect, adapting to a new culture has a positive impact on dress, food and beliefs. Every country has a tradition. If the environment changes, it will affect how people behave and their psychology. Understanding the different cultures is crucial before you can join either type of organization. It is up to you to determine if you can adapt to the cultures of each country.
